Feeling Down? Want To Get Lifted Up?

Today I came across this wonderful video below that puts so many things into perspective. I was indeed feeling down when I came across this video on Youtube and it really cheered me up (see video below).  I’ve always heard that if you are feeling down start to think about all that you have and it will brighten your day. I know that you are probably thinking “Ya right, that sounds so fluffy.” Fluffy or not, it’s true. When you start to be grateful for all that you have you will find that it can really change your life.

I’m going to start to practice a daily attitude of gratitude. Write down the good things that happened in your life today however small it may be and start saying thank-you more. It’s amazing, it’s hard to take care of other people’s needs, but by serving others you will stop feeling down. If you volunteer at a homeless shelter and help serve the food, you will start to feel great about yourself again. It’s when you help others you find out that you are really helping yourself.

This video is about a song called “You Make Beautiful Things out of the Dust” from a band called “Gungor.” It’s a beautiful song about how God makes beautiful things out of the dust. We were all made out of the dust, the trees were, butterflies were and all that is beautiful was made from God’s hands.

What really touched my heart about this video is some of the lyrics. It says, “You make beautiful things out of the dust.” When I look into my parents eyes or my husband’s eyes I see a beautiful thing that God has made out of the dust, when I look at my pet smiling back at me so happy I think that’s another beautiful thing God has made. I then glanced outside and saw the beautiful trees with birds on them singing to me and thought of another beautiful thing that God has made. I then began to weep because all this time there was so many beautiful things around me that I never saw or appreciated.

After listening to this song I began to see the world differently. There are so many beautiful things around us. We just have to stop and see them!

What I also like is at the end of the song it says “You make me new, You are making me new.” This sentence really hit home with me because sometimes after making mistakes and you might think that all is lost, but God makes you new again. Every day He is making me brand new! Isn’t the thought of that great? He picks us up and cleans us off and makes us brand new again, every time we ask for forgiveness of our sins, He makes us new again! As the song says, “ You make beautiful things out of us!”
